Top 4 Sports Headlines You Will Not Read In 2023

1. Tiger Woods Wins A Major tiger-woods

You can’t blame his personal life anymore. It can be the injuries. It could be mental, physical, and emotional fatigue. It may be a mental impediment regarding reaching and passing Jack Nicklaus. Whatever it is, Woods is not going to move any closer to the Major record in 2014, and maybe beyond. It’s OK; at one point, it looked like a simple matter of time until Alex Rodriguez captured both the regular season and all-time home run records. No matter what sport you play, it is just too impossible to compete at the best level until you enter your late-30’s.

Now, it is true that Nicklaus won two Majors when he was 40, and won his final Masters when he was 46. There is always a modicum of optimism, but the overwhelming quantity of data still points to 2014 not being Tiger’s year.

2. Rex Ryan Will Return To Coach The 2014 New York Jets

To be honest, he may not even make it to the end of 2013. After a great first couple of years, Ryan has fallen out of favor in Gotham. He does not get along with the new General Manager. He has lost control of his team to his offensive coordinator. His legendary defense of his players has begun to crumble, owing to the way he handled with Geno Smith. Many of the pricey signings which formerly contributed to a superb defense are gone. Ryan and (snicker) Mark Sanchez are the remaining relics of what once was a warmly remembered moment in Jets legend.

In the coming off season, Ryan will be one of the most sought after defensive coordinators around, or else he may go on a career of being interviewed on sports talk radio. He will not, however, be returning as the Jets Head Coach.

3. LeBron James Signs With The Los Angeles Lakers

Steve Nash has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014. Beyond that? Everything is wide open. Traditionally, the Lakers had been able to recruit any top tier free agent that they desired. Players were eager to accept wage cutbacks and do anything they could in order to opt in to La La land. It appears that the Lakers want to replicate that enchantment with LeBron James, and make him a Laker.

With the Dwight Howard disaster though, their image has begun to take a blow. After the death of Jerry Buss, and the consequent handover of basketball operations to Jim Buss, the Lakers are a franchise in both transition and disorder. If the Mike D’Antoni experiment fails, the Lakers will be searching for their third coach in as many years. Even if they brought Phil Jackson back, the Lakers would be significantly lower on James’ priority list than the Miami Heat or the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James passed down famous organisations like the Knicks and the Bulls. What makes the Lakers believe that they will alter his mind, knowing the position they’re in?

4. Peyton/Eli Manning Plays In 2014 Super Bowl

Eli-and-Peyton-Manning

This will probably be the forecast that draws the most flack in the comments. However, neither Manning will be participating in that next Ice Bowl at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This is, once again, an instance of the house money winning. There has never been a host team that has played in the Super Bowl.

Never mind that however; this years version of the Giants are just not powerful enough to defy that pattern. The Giants are likely to struggle to reach the playoffs as a Wild Card club this year. Granted, a sixth seed can go all the way to the Super Bowl and win, which has occurred twice previously. However, this is just not Eli’s year.

Denver Broncos supporters will be somewhat more outraged. Peyton Manning is heading to an age range where quarterbacks just do not take their teams to Super Bowls. Manning is one of the top regular season quarterbacks of all time. However, Manning is not a terrific postseason quarterback. Often, Manning has problems winning even one postseason game. Of course, Peyton has gone to two Super Bowls, winning one.

However, his final Super Bowl came in February 2010, was a losing effort, and was before a catastrophic neck injury which lost him a year of his career. The Broncos will have a tremendous regular season, will be greatly favored in the playoffs, and may possibly be the #1 seed. However, neither the Broncos nor the Gian

ts are headed to the Super Bowl.
